recession?

Dear Government:

I have a great idea, ok? If you send me $5,000 I promise to immediately go out and spend it on merchandise. This would be a win-win situation, right? You would win because I would be doing my part to help out the economy, and I would win, because there is so much stuff I wish I could buy right now. So... I'll be waiting for the check in the mail.
